VERY RARE Stunning Green on Cream Hadley Worcester Faience Art Nouveau Vase 1900
Beautiful Hadley Worcester Faience Art Nouveau Vase. Stunning greens on creamy ground. Classic baluster shape: a slender, elongated neck and a bulbous base - in a beautiful green-on-cream aesthetic. The body is hand-painted with a botanical and avian scene - portraying birds perched among leaves, flowers and foliage in a beautiful monochromatic green palette. This superb handpainted core body is framed by stylized scroll-bordered differing shade green patterns on the neck and base, indicative of the Art Nouveau style of the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. Faience' on Hadley's pieces represents a specific, high-quality, artistic pottery range. Hadley's Faience style embraces within this vase an artistic, Art Nouveau, sculptural quality. Capturing the central feature of hand painted birds within their leafy and floral natural habitat in beautiful shades of green - and this framed by a bottom of vase broad scrolled, shaped border and similar stunning scrolling and shaping through the neck of the vase. Both the base and mouth rims are beautifully gilded. A major standout of this vase is the beautiful green colourings and their accentuation by the creamy coloured ground of the vase backcloth - this creamy ground flows from slightly darker shade around the lower vase, lightening in shade through the vase core and darkening once again into the vase neck. Hadleys Worcester England' with an integral sash containing'Faience'. 21cm in height; 10cm across the vase widest diameter; with a 1.5cm diameter stem neck, flaring out into a 3cm diameter mouth.
