Very rare Green glass & sterling silver Edwardian cigar oil table lighter - 1903. This beautiful and very rare green glass & sterling silver Edwardian cigar oil table lighter is in wonderful condition. These gorgeous items were used when the well-to-do gentlemen of the Victorian period would stay in the dining room and the ladies would head off to the drawing room. The men could then speak freely and enjoy games and smoke a cigar. This lamp would be lit and they could use it to light the cigars for the evening. This is a really rare piece and perfect for the collectors out there. I doubt you will find another like it easily. The lighter comes with a little snuffer that sits in it's holder on the side of the piece.

When everyone has finished for the evening the snuffer would be dropped onto the wick to extinguish the flame ready for another day. A fantastic example of this type of antique oil table lighter. Please see our photo's for more detail.

Makers - Levi & Salaman (Founded in 1870). Size - 96mm tall (Including the snuffer when placed on the top) x 36mm diameter base. Weight - 68.5 grams.
