Rare Thoune Swiss Pottery Majolica Lidded Jug - Owl Form - c. A rare Thoune Swiss pottery majolica lidded jug in the form of an owl. The piece stands on a flat rectangular foot and has stylised designs to the body delivered in brightly coloured enamels. 23.5cm high, 18.5cm wide (maximum including spout and handle). The upper section of the spout has been restored.

There are some glaze frits to the feathers on the finial and the outer and inner rim of the lid - minor glaze rubs to the end of the beak, tips of the ears, base of the spout, and the upper and lower edge of the foot. The handle is in good condition.
