Set of 30 pristine, new in box Victorian / Art Nouveau Tubeline fireplace hearth / splashback tiles. Midnight-green background, yellow and blue floral detail. Each tile measuresexactly 6 inches square. Perfect for period Victorian and Edwardian fireplace or for any other part of your home. Tube lining is a method of decorating glazed items developed in the late 19th Century and used extensively during the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau periods.
A bead of slip is piped by hand onto the tile surface to form the outline of each design. Coloured translucent glazes are then flooded into each area, the depth of glaze can be clearly seen by the varying shades of each colour.
