ROYAL DUX Art Nouveau Floral Maiden c. 1900 Backstamp 5296 Porcelain Vase 1

This is an early piece dating from the 1860 - 1914. Royal Dux production can be divided into four periods, and these can be roughly identified by changes in marks. In the first period, 1860 to 1914, the letter E is impressed in the centre of the pink triangle.

E represents Eichler, the founder's surname. This is the mark found on the base of this vase along with impressed marks - see photos. The last photo shows the two vases together. This one has fully gilded handle. The actual vase rings true but the base when rung is dull.

It is visually notable on the base but not elsewhere and the vase is sound. The colours are good with only minimal wear to the gold.
