Rare Antique IE&C Co Nippon Era Art Nouveau HP Pair Chrysanthemum Vases. Offered here is an antique pair of elegant Nippon era vases. Imported by an English company called IE&C Co.

These matching vases feature light pink and magenta chrysanthemum flowers and associated foliage. Not much is known about the company other than the belief that they traveled to Japan to seek out top quality kilns and ended up importing the items back to England where the demand for the Nippon style was thriving at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. A combination of light and dark greens make up the background.

Delicate applications of gold gilt adorn the top rim and trace varying lines throughout the body of each vase. Each measures 8 1/2" High x 5 1/2" in Diameter. One small area of cracking on the interior rim of one vase. The crack does not go through the porcelain. Very minimal wear from age.
