Matching PAIR of 19th Century Antique H J Wood of Burslem, Iridescent Lustreware Vases, Circa 1891. Condition is Antique and Very Fine.

No damage, chips or cracks. The outer glaze is showing slight signs of crazing which is expected from pieces of this age and shows authenticity. Some signs of dirt and wear to the feet. Matching Pair of Early English Lustreware Vases with Iridescent Glaze Finish.

Hand Painted Scenes of Trees and Landscapes. Manufacturers Stamp Printed on the Base. Made by H J Wood of Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, England. This is one of HJ Woods earliest backstamps and dates to around 1891.

Staffordshire potteries were renowned for producing high quality wares from that period and these are no exception. The iridescent glaze, beautiful landscape scenes and solid manufacture makes this matching pair both rare and collectible. See my feedback for other happy customers.
