Murrle Bennett Art Nouveau 15 ct Pebble Pendant and chain

  

A delightful pebble pendant from Anglo German Art Nouveau Jewellers Murrle Bennett. Marked for Murrle Bennett and for 15ct gold. The chain is marked for 9 ct gold.

The piece comes cased from the previous Van den Bosch. The pendant is 6.5 cm from the tip of the bale to the end of the baroque pearl drop. The style of entrapping stones in a wirework of gold or silver was popular during the Art Nouveau period and still gives the pieces a modern feel. The pebble of igneous rock is heavily chloritised with beautiful hues of purple and green. Easy to see why it was chosen.
