Magnificent, 14 Tall Antique Moser Vases Gold Enamel, Green URANIUM Glass

  

This is a pair of very elegant, very tall 14 in. Hand blown emerald green glass, antique vases, trumpet shaped with a grand flourish of fanning ruffles. Just imagine these with flowers in them! As an added feature, these vases are uranium/vaseline glass and glow a yellow-green when illuminated by a black light. The front of each vase is hand decorated with gold enamel in a Victorian design of cascading flowers and ribbons, but, being hand painted, there are subtle differences between the two vases' decoration.

This gold enameling shows very little wear. The base also has some painted gold enamel, and some of this may have worn away, but most remains. These gilded vases are in the manner of Moser Bohemian glass of the 19th and early 20th century, but are unsigned (as is much of Moser antique glass).

The condition of these is very good, with only slight damage to the bases: one is chipped and the other has a stress crack. Neither vase is weakened by their flaw and they stand strong and steady.

There are a few, small bubbles in the glass and the pontil is easily seen and not polished. 9" across at the top and 4.76" across the base. They weigh approximately 1.75 lbs each.
