Loetz Green Glass La Pierre Sterling Silver Overlay Art Nouveau Cabinet Vase

  
Exquisitely crafted during the latter part of the 19th Century, this lovely emerald green Loetz cabinet vase is a stunning example of Art Nouveau design. It features swirling flowers and leaves in Sterling silver overlay atop an elegant curved vase made of matte green glass with diamond shaped patterns in it. Unmarked but clearly up to the standard of Loetz quality, design and execution, this original piece of antique Bohemian art glass is a true representation of the era's aesthetic. The vase is in beautiful antique condition. I can neither see nor feel any damage to the glass. The floral silver overlay, which is marked with a tiny engraved cursive capital letter "L" for La Pierre and the stamped word "STERLING" along the bottom band of silver, in very nice condition with light surface scratches and one small dented line in the silver.

Such gentle wear to the silver is consistent with age and use. This jewel of a vase stands at 4 inches tall and measures 4 inches in diameter at its widest point. This is a beautiful piece of substance, both in terms of its weight and its significance.
