Loetz Art Nouveau Glass Brass Top For E. Bakalowits & Sons, Austria, circa 1901. It was hard to decide if it was a keepsafe box, vase, centerpiece, tea holder perfume or sachet container. Whatever it is it is very unique. The estate tag had it marked as bakolowits austria 1902.
It is a domed curved etched glass jar globe dome shade vase with an ornate Brass lid top. Has a very arts and crafts art nouveau feel. Still is it a glass dome shade. Like a Weeble wobbles it sits leaning in whatever direction it's in but maybe sat on a holder.
It is really beautiful and in great condition. It has on one side a very small little fleabite ding. And on the inside rim a flea bite or two very small. The top of the lid has a almost cross hairs of a rifle scope or the center in which adjuster for javelin would and four. It is really a stunning and very different looking piece.
It measures 6 inches tall under 5 inches wide 3 3/4 diameter opening on top. This item is in the category "Pottery & Glass\Decorative Pottery & Glassware\Vases".
