Loetz Art Glass 3.5 Cabinet Vase, Sterling Silver Overlay, c. 1885-1900

  

Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a gorgeous Loetz Art Glass petite cabinet vase from the Art Nouveau Period, c. This stunning vase has a beautiful blue-green iridescent coloration and is encased in an elaborate Sterling Silver overlay Art Nouveau influenced floral design. The silver overlay work has nice details.

Measures 3 1/2" high with a 3" overall width and a 2 1/8 diameter top. Both the glass body and the silver overlay on this stunning cabinet vase is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws.

Some Bohemian vases with applied silver decoration were executed in Europe but the majority of the silver overlay work was applied by American Silver Companies to vases acquired directly from the Loetz factory. Only the highest grade silver is malleable enough to be worked on glass making these silver overlaid vases very desirable.
