A Francois Legras'Belgrade' shape, pale green satin finish glass vase enamelled with Ivy flowers and leaves (Feuilles de Lierre) decoration. The vase has a trefoil gilded rim a round neck and body, the body is thickly hand painted in enamels in a stylised ivy design. There is polished pontil mark to the base c1900.
This is the 2nd of a pair that I have currently listed separately (see last 2 pictures the vase in this listing is on the right). (I have a larger vase in the same pattern also currently listed). Sometimes these vases are numbered, but not so this one. Glass is excellent, no restoration, chips, cracks, no staining, some rubbing to the gilding on the rim but in the main it is fine, enamelling is in excellent order for age, a few bubble inclusions in the glass, left over from the manufacturing process, there is a manufacturing fault to the rim lip on this vase (see in foreground picture 7), other signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Please look at my other British and continental antique and datelined glass currently listed from well known manufacturers including; Walsh, Webb, Whitefriars, Stuart, Charles Kempton, Baccarat, St Louis, Meyrs Neffe, Moser, Fritz Heckert, Legras and Val St Lambert, WMF etc.
