A large and impressive majolica jardiniere from the late 19th / early 20th century, with green glaze and relief decorated with stylized leaves. Measures 19cm tall and 23.5cm in diameter at rhe rim. The jardiniere is possibly by Ault Pottery (other Ault examples with the same design can be found on the internet) but the only marks to the base are'NATAL No 5A'.
There is a small chip under the footring (see last photo) along with crazing to the glaze and general light wear in line with age. Ease see all photos for confirmation of condition. Collection welcome from Scholar Green, Cheshire, ST7 3QR.
