This is a large, one-of-a-kind, and very impressive piece, a Johan Retz Vitve Formosa technique iridescent bowl. The vase is featured in the catalogue of the National Arts and Crafts Museum in Prague, and is a very valuable product from the Art Nouveau period in 1902. The fantastic luster decoration on the body is a technique often used by Johan Retz Vitve, and together with the unique and eye-catching form of the standing figure, it creates a presence that is indescribable. Because no two Letz Studio pieces are exactly alike in the production process, no two pieces finished with these techniques are the same, making them one-of-a-kind vases. The unique and distinctive shape of the slender vase is typical, but the number of bowls with a wide body is extremely rare, making them very valuable pieces.
