Fine Japanese Meiji Period Cloisonné Vase - Art Nouveau Iris Design. A beautifully executed Meiji era cloisonné enamel vase featuring flowing iris blossoms in rich purples and pinks against a rare pistachio-green enamel ground.
The soft organic curves and elongated floral lines reflect strong Art Nouveau influence, a style highly favored c. Height: 7 in (17.8 cm). Width: 3 in (7.6 cm) at widest. Technique: Polychrome cloisonné enamel with brass rims. Design: Irises and foliage in shaded enamel tones with gold wire outlines.
Ground color: Soft pistachio green (uncommon and desirable tone). Displays beautifully with no cracks, dents, or restorations. There is one very small age-related enamel flake on the rim (shown clearly in the photos) - minor and common for cloisonné of this period, not visually distracting. A few expected tiny kiln specks/pinpoints in the enamel surface. Clean rims and base with normal patina. Overall excellent presentation for a Meiji piece of 110+ years.
A classic Meiji floral cloisonné vase with strong Art Nouveau character - ideal for collectors and interior display. Friendly Reminder (your standard shop policy block).
