GORGEOUS ART NOUVEAU SILVER OVERLAY on GREEN ART GLASS VASE, 10 HIGH

  
This listing is for a STUNNING Sterling Silver overlay Art Glass vase, c. Measures 10" high with a 3" diameter base.

This incredible vase has a thickly applied layer of silver overlaid on a heavy green glass body and has an elongated corset shape. The silver design features fully opened roses and buds with foliage and covers a majority of the glass with the rich emerald green glass showing through the design. The upper rim and edge of the base are covered with a ring of silver. There is a fancy 2-letter monogram "C S" in the design on the front below the open rose. Although we did not find the Sterling stamp on this vase, we do guarantee that this vase is Sterling Silver overlay.

We believe it was made in the U. By Gorham, Alvin or one of the other prominent silver companies operating in the U. Loetz in Austria was also known for his silver overlay pieces although much of his work had the silver applied over iridescent glass. Both the glass and the silver overlay on this fabulous vase are in excellent Estate condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. We currently have a nice selection of antique vases with Sterling Silver overlay.
