French Antique Green Enamel Woodburner/Solid Fuel Stove. Lily by Deville. 1920's

  

This is a stunning Green french enamel Stove suitable for Woodburning, solid fuel or Hotmax' or similar fuel logs if you have a chimney. This stove could also be used with a bio ethanol burner if you have no chimney.

This piece is in lovely condition and the casting is excusite with foxglove running up both sides and in the front panel. This is a very decorative piece, that would make a stunning centrepiece to your room. We began to overhaul the stove intending to reinstall this back into our french property, however sadly its no longer big enough for the new space. It may need a rope seals around the door as it doesn't have one. The retaining nuts for the top plate have been replaced for ease of removal of the and the outer body top and back has been ground back to remove any rust before being refinishing with fire hearth black. The top lid is now easy to remove ready for simple job of sealing top plate with fireproof sealant when finally installed. See photo top with off.

The Mica windows has been replaced by a sheet metal plate which is serviceable but could be removed and mica reinstalled if desired. The ash pan is solid.

The fire sits on 3 feet and is designed to be freestanding. The cast Iron emblem on top front lift up flap has a locking arm and is embossed with the makers emblem Deville & Co. There are no cracks in the cast iron body, however there is a small crack in the front of the top enamel lid please see photo. The lid is still solid and this should not effect usage. The fire itself is solid with no cracks in the cast housing and the grate inserts and riddle plate are all present and working. The fire bricks are present and appear to be in a usable state. The center grill can be removed to gain wider access to the grate, it can also be top loaded. There is one larger chip on top of the top of the outside door as seen in the photo. There is wear/ chips in enamel casing around the door opening which is petty much covered when the door is closed.

There is general wear as you would expect for a piece of this age, but overall excellent and nothing significant. Height 63cm width 44cm wide depth 27.5 cms. CASH ON COLLECTION ONLY PLEASE Location SALISBURY. Please feel free to ask any questions, more photos available if required.
