Flemish Art Pottery 16 Vase Tri-Color Blue Green Drip Glaze Art Nouveau Belgium I fell in love with this vase when I found it at the estate of a well known antique collector in Pennsylvania. The vase has a rich Flemish history. This tall Art Nouveau jug style vase is decorated with interesting figures of butterflies and geese in a beautiful blue, yellow, green, and brown polychrome glaze. Potters, many of them famous, have worked in Belgium since the 18th century. These potters created a type of pottery which features an applique folk-art style which reached its peak in the Art Nouveau period.
The style quickly spread throughout Flanders and subsequently into Britain and North America. This earthenware vase is a large and beautiful example of that Flemish pottery.
