Super Jugendstil Silver & Chrysoprase Cufflinks by Ludwig Knupfer / Theodor Fahrner for Murrle Bennett & Co, 1903. For sale a rare pair of Art Nouveau Jugendstil cufflinks designed by designer Ludwig Knupfer for Theodor Fahrner and distributed by Murrle Bennett & Co in 1903. Fashioned in 950 silver and the delightful Jugendstil organic cell design is set with an oval chrysoprase cabochon to each. The circular faces measure approx 15mm in diameter. Joined with silver loops to bar ends.

Between Avantgarde and Tradition by Schmundt, Weber & Becker, Schiffer, p49. There existed a friendship and buisness connection between Theodor Fahrner and Murrle Bennett and Co. These are marked with the'TF' and'MB&C' makers marks,'950'(finer than sterling),'Regd' and import marks to London for 1903 to each (see photos). Quite fabulous original G L Connells box with Art Nouveau gilt text to silk interior. No damage or restoration to silver or chrysoprases.
