ART NOUVEAU LIBERTY & Co ARCHIBALD KNOX TUDRIC GREEN GLASS VASE 0441. 5 3/4in H
Fabulous as found Tudric pewter vase. Just stamped to base TUDRIC and design number 0441. The pewter base is designed by Archibald Knox with a cutaway art nouveau entrelac and leaf pattern. It is in as found condition. There are faults to note. Upper surface has even oxidation with a few little dinks that has detached tiny bits. See Outer edge of top rim. Some encrustation to oxide coating on under side. This can be removed with careful restoration. This could be polished to gain the art nouveau silvery look if desired. The James Powell straight green glass with flaring lip is original but is DAMAGED. The base is cracked and although it has not been apart is mobile and moving slightly It has had what looks like sealing wax on the base. It is fragile and needs some restoration by professional restorer. The cracks need cleaning and stabilising. It is the original glass vase and is worth the attention. No chips to rim and the base has a lovely ground out and polished Pontil. As it stands it looks fantastic.
Not usable but still stands well in any collection. Diameter top 3 14in, 8.2cm. Diameter bottom 2 1/8in, 5.4cm. Height 5 1/4in, 13.5cm. Please inspect the photographs closely to assess the condition and damage to the vase.
