Antique Washstand with Green and Floral Art Nouveau Tiles and Carved Top. This is a beautiful , practical item and in excellent condition but try as we might we cannot get it into the bathroom of our new home. It looks quite dinky but it is bigger than it seems. Height of full stand with top 1330mm /4.36ft. Marble/granite top900 x 450mm /2.95 x 1.47ft. Height below marble/granite 800cm/ 2.62ft.

We bought it some years ago and we did not give much thought to its history but it seems likely that it was made between 1900 -1930. This is a bedroom washstand rather than a commode washstand.

The top could either be granite of marble. Seems that both materials were used on washstands interchangeably.
