For those of you who like rare and unusual items, in my 40+ years of collecting fine porcelain I have NEVER seen another tankard decorated with this pattern!!! This is a very recognizable Tressemann & Vogt Limoges pattern, hand painted by the master decorator, "Roby". Against a ground of chartreuse and muted green, the front features a pair of roses on stem and leaf that are divided by gilded scrolls that have been outlined in fine black pen work.
The back features a single pink rose and a smaller gold scroll. The gilded handle remains in pristine condition. The tankard was factory decorated and double marked with the green underglaze mark 7 and the purple overglaze mark 15 used from 1892 to 1907, probably the latter part of the period. It measures 14 ¼ inches tall, 7 ½ inches across the mouth to the handle and 6 inches across the base. The tankard remains in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or other wear to this beautiful and unusual piece.
