Antique Langley Mill Pottery LOVIQUE WARE Large Hand Painted Vase / Bowl Cir. Signed and Stamped "Langley Ware" and "Lovique Ware" England. Dia at Rim: 8 inches. Dia at Base: 5.5 inches. No Damage, Cracks or Signs of Wear Anywhere on the Pot. Has Been Well Looked After. This is an early example of Lovique Ware - Pre-Art Nouveau Design Period - from the famous Langley Mill Pottery in Derbyshire. From the Lovatt & Lovatt Period. In 1897, the production of decorated stoneware vases, pots and other items began again.
Examples of wares from this period are Mycovera Ware, Applique Ware and Lovique Ware. By 1903, the New Art Ware was in production, consisting of hand-painted impasto flowers on a matt glaze background.
