An Edwardian art nouveau period silver fronted mantel clock of large proportions with black painted wooden case and a mechanical keywound movement. The silver is clearly hallmarked for Birmingham 1909 with the maker's mark of Charles S. Ltd (n o additional engravings). The clock movement is stamped'manufactured in France' and comes with a size 8 winding key.
In very good overall condition. The silver has no distortions or repairs and only carries a few tiny pin dents. The wood is in good order throughout with some wear (mainly to the corners) consistent with use. The brass bound clock mechanism is in perfect working order and keeps good time.
