Welcome to William Sharpe Antiques. Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful Art Nouveau sterling silver salt cellar, made by Walker & Hall of Birmingham, c-1904. This wonderful piece is of tapering oval shape with pierced body and unusual green glass liner, being of very good quality in both design and execution throughout.
Condition is good used, with no major damage to note. The green glass liner liner has a few losses evident (refer photos). The salt is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks about 70% overall (fading). A fine piece for the collection. The salt stands 3cm tall and measures 6cm x 4cm at the rim.
Unpacked, it weighs in at 54gms with the sterling silver accounting for 24gms of this. To see my other items! If you would like to view this item or any other, please don't hesitate to contact me. Inspections are available seven days a week, with flexible timing.
Sterling silver offered at William Sharpe Antiques is original and authentic, showing signs of use over its life. Unless expressly stated above, all pieces are free from major structural damage. However, normal signs of use including shallow depressions, fine scratches, and minor pattern and hallmark wear should be expected. All pieces (unless expressly stated above) have undertaken a very light polish with respect to the original patina, and a decision for further polishing will be left to the new custodian. Please note that items listed (unless otherwise advertised) are antiques and are not brand new.
