Rindskopf, Quadrefoil Flower Form, Pulled Feathering, Oil Spots, Very Nice Vase

The item is call a "Flower Form" vase. The vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 6 5/8 tall.

The bottom bulbous area has a diameter of 3 1/8" and the top of the vase is 2 7/8" in diameter from lobe to lobe. This vase is one for those who are looking to collect excellent examples of Rindskopf art glass. The vase displays a quad or 4 fold flower form with a pulled feather decoration over a gold oil spot body on a clear base glass. The vase displays a beautiful pulled feather style décor in green that is applied at the shoulder area and being pulled to the underside bottom and has 5 distinct fingers being pulled down.

The gold oil spot iridescent is excellent as is the iridescence in the decorated feather pulls. You can see some white with blue and green colors. When held to the light it is truly beautiful. The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings.

The piece is unsigned as is the case with Rindskopf pieces of art glass. They more than likely had a paper label. The vase does have the countersunk rough pontil and a fire polished top edge, the sign of quality art glass. I have been a collector and dealer for some 30+ years. I have only come across 2 of this Quad form in a cabinet size in my 47 years as a dealer and collector.

I have had several of the larger 10-12 inch vases but never a cabinet size. I would consider this size to be a rare find. I also want to point out the decoration and execution of this vase is very similar to Loetz.

This leads me to believe that Rindskopf might have blown some of Loetz's shapes for export at the turn of the century.
