ART NOUVEAU SILVER OVERLAY on GREEN ART GLASS VASE, 8 HIGH

  

This listing is for a pretty Sterling Silver overlay Art Glass vase, c. Measures 8" high with a 2" diameter top and 2 3/4 diameter base. This nice vase has a thickly applied layer of Sterling Silver overlaid on a heavy green glass body.

The silver design consists of engraved Art Nouveau flowers and foliage floating throughout the body of the vase with the green glass showing through the design. Although we did not find the Sterling stamp on this vase, we do guarantee that this vase is Sterling Silver overlay. We believe it was made in the U. By Gorham, Alvin or one of the other prominent silver companies operating in the U. Loetz in Austria was also known for his silver overlay pieces although much of his work had the silver applied over iridescent glass.

Both the glass body of the vase and the silver overlay are in excellent condition with no noted flaws. We currently have a nice selection of antique vases with Sterling Silver overlay.
