Fabulous antique signed PILABRASGO Pittsburgh Lamp Brass and Glass Co. Table or student desk lamp.

It has a 14 inch diameter shade- so not a small lamp. It has a unique chipped ice style textured shade- the chipped textured surface looks like swirls, feathers or fossil designs.

Nice deep green over white cased glass. Decorative heavy metal lamp base with a kind of heart and feather Art Nouveau design -has thumb screws so that the height of the shade can be adjusted. May be what is called a University Reading lamp by Pilabrasgo- made to be restful to the eye.

Probably close to 100 years old. Single pull chain socket looks original; cloth cord with brown Bakelite plug.

Thumb screws on shade height adjusters are marked PILABRASGO. Height is adjustable - lamp w/ shade is 21.5 inches high as shown and can be adjusted up or down another inch or so. Base width is 7.5 inches. Shade width is 14.25 inches; shade (alone) height is 6.75 inches. Condition: Lamp works and is in very nice condition.

Beautiful when lit or unlit. When lit it gives the room a warm light.

Shade - I do not see or feel any cracks in the shade- when you ping the glass it has a beautiful bell ring sound that goes on and on - no sound of cracked glass. Bottom rim smooth, top rim slightly rough but not chipped; some small areas on the textured green surface of the shade that look like chips up close. Hard to decide whether some are part of the design or not- (see pics).

Base-some wear and patina as expected but very nice; 1 of the 3 thumb screws on the height adjuster is missing the Pilabrasgo tab- functions like a regular screw; pull chain works. Cord shows wear and damage and should be replaced with reproduction cloth cord. Weighs about 10 pounds unpackaged. Local pick-up is always an option.
