Imprinted on the bottom is WELLER POTTERY. In paint is the number 12. Designed by Rudolph Lorber who, in 1905, invented the mottled green pottery with a glossy finish which he named Coppertone. Weller Pottery was founded in 1872 by Samuel Weller and produced on his farm.

By 1882, rapid growth and popularity necessitated a move to a larger facility in Zanesville, Ohio. By 1905, Weller Pottery was the largest pottery in the country. 4.25H x 5W x 4D.
