Antique Velvetine Valance Art Nouveau Design Rare Rich Green Tones 1 of Set 1900

  
Hello and Welcome to the Textile Trunk! This wonderful antique French bed valance panel dates to circa 1900 and is roller printed in the most wonderful Art Nouveau design onto velvetine fabric! I very rarely find anything in velvetine, and the combination of the texture of this fabric and the pattern is absolutely stunning! The tones include lovely rich greens, steely blue, burnt orange, brown, pink and neutral tones. It is so much more beautiful in person!! I hesitated to wash these, I believe they should be dry cleaned, but I think they will clean beautifully, but they will probably still have an unevenly faded pattern.

(I have some other curtains from this set, please see my other listings or get in touch). This fabric is a heavy weight. The curtain is backed in a plain aged beige cotton, and there are little metal hooks at the top for hanging. This can be hung as is for a very timeworn look, and would also be suitable for light upholstery, framing, pillows, curtains and many other wonderful uses. MEASUREMENTS: This beautiful panel measures 15 inches wide by 79.5 inches long.

CONDITION: This fabric is in original, unwashed condition with light storage dirt and dust. There are tiny dark speckled stains on the right half that I think may be charcoal. This panel has uneven fading and large areas of discoloration from storage marks. The trim is damaged with many missing bobbles. The back is discolored with many speckled age marks.
