Antique Art Nouveau Czechoslovakia Majolica Centerpiece Bowl Red & Green Dragons. Antique C1920 Art Nouveau Czechoslovakian Majolica Pedestal Centerpiece Bowl with Green Dragon Handles and Red Dragons on both Sides. The Centerpiece Bowl measures 6 1/2" to top of Dragon Head and is about 9" wide. It is in Excellent Condition with no chips or cracks.
Marked on the bottom as pictured with'Czecho-Slovakia 8714 Erphila Art Pottery'Erphila' was the Company that imported the Centerpiece Bowl into the United States. Erphila is a mark found on Czechoslovakian and other pottery and porcelain made after 1920. This mark was used on items imported by Ebeling & Reuss of Philadelphia, a giftware firm that was founded in 1866 and out of business sometime after 2002.The mark is a combination of the letters. (Ebeling & Reuss) and the first letters of the city, Phila(delphia). Is one of many marks used by American importers. Many whimsical figural pitchers and creamers, figurines, platters, and other giftwares carry this mark.
